Quantum computing — Why Now?

In the link below, a very interesting talk by Ronan Damasco, from Microsoft, in this year UFSC (brazilian Santa Catarina Federal University) quantum computing workshop.

One tought from this. We don’t need to know quantum physics deeply to do quantum computing.

We can go straight to the point and try to create algorithms from the rules that are put. It is analogous to the case of classical computing. We don’t need to know the chemistry and physics that occur inside transistors to create applications that work.

Creating quantum hardware requires millions of dollars of investment and enormous research. Using a quantum computer is much simpler, and it is in this space that several startups are likely to appear.
